For the course "Zero Impact building" we were asked to transform an existing building into a building of the future. A building which has as little impact as possible on the environment, and where the techniques that are required in order to keep the building working are as little as possible. The chimney effect and heating using biogas are some examples of how the building can pursue a positive energy emission in the future. Zib Pure, with minimal effect on the outside world.

The assignment asked to select an existing building near Dampoort. We were convinced to choose the most iconic building of Dampoort, that's why the EDF Luminus power plant was perfectly fitted for the project. With its large chimney, the building is a landmark in the city area.

The building will be transformed into a place where people can go with their questions about new energy. Energy will be exhibited in different ways and processed, as is evident in the building program. One part is left untouched, to demonstrate how the former power station generated its energy.
